Children's book titled "A Year in the Life of Santa Claus" with a watercolor illustration of Santa writing in a book at his desk, surrounded by Christmas decorations, photographs, and a window with a Christmas scene.

This isn't just another Christmas story.

From Iceland’s Yule Lads to South Africa’s summer barbecues and Britain’s paper-crowned crackers, each day reveals the beauty of how the world celebrates joy. Through mishaps, discoveries, and Mrs. Claus’s steady command, this story reminds us the most wonderful time of year is every day when you’re in the business of making dreams come true.

It’s a glimpse into one remarkable year when the curtain lifts on the world’s most magical operation. Step into 2024 at The Pole, where real Christmas magic happens in the eleven months no one sees, Santa juggling workshop chaos, reindeer training, and his study of global traditions.

One-of-a-kind Lens

I write under the name Nicholas Frost and set up residence in both Texas and somewhere much farther north. I've spent my life studying how things really work, from military logistics to financial planning to the delicate art of making grandchildren believe in wonder.

I understand what it takes to run a global operation, manage diverse teams, and maintain traditions across cultures. Some writers imagine what Santa's life might be like. I write from a different kind of research.

Why This Book, Now

A cheerful girl with braided hair, rainbow-colored socks, and red boots, is holding colorful fabric streams above her head, standing in front of a wall with rows of colorful spools of thread.

In a time of growing division and digital disconnection, we need stories that treat our differences as invitations, not threats.

This book offers just that, a journey through global traditions that reveals how joy and kindness transcend borders. While headlines dwell on what divides us, children everywhere still leave out cookies and milk, still believe in magic, still hope for tomorrow.

A Year in the Life of Santa Claus reminds us we’re all neighbors on the same small planet, and that understanding one another is how we keep the spirit alive.
